BTh – Bachelor of Theology
The Bachelor of Theology degree course has been designed both for people preparing for ordained ministry, and for others who are exploring various forms of Christian service. The course is designed to help students make healthy connections between theology and the practice of ministry in the contemporary context.
The full-time version of the course is spread over 3 years, with students normally completing six 20 credit modules each year. At each stage of the course students are able to study modules exploring central themes in biblical studies, Christian doctrine, Church history, spirituality and practical theology.
Students are also able to study biblical languages; and in the final year it is possible to explore a specific area of interest by writing a dissertation.
Under the guidance of their college tutor, students can choose optional modules drawn from both the BTh and the BA courses.
Church-based ministers in training are able to reflect on their work in the placement context in the Reflective Practice in Ministry module.
Students working on a part-time basis will take longer to complete the course.
